Tyler was talking to Adam and out of the corner of my eye I watch as Trinity checks to see if Tyler is looking then dart her hand to his plate, steal a piece of his chicken and stuff it in her mouth real quick. She did this about three times! Each time she would wait until he was occupied with something and not paying attention and then steal and stuff. She had no idea that after the first piece Adam and I were watching her. We had to "call her out" on it before she choked herself, her mouth was so full but she just kept going for it. I so wish I could have caught that on tape it was the funniest thing I have ever seen!

A must taste, see and enter kind of post..

Ok my fellow foodies! He is very forceful with his words, making sure you know he means business when he is talking. For some time now we have been dealing with hitting issues. He has not fully grasped the idea that hitting hurts people and it is not a nice thing to do. His last attempt got him sent straight to time out. "Tyler, it is not nice to hit people. You hit your sister so you need to go to time out." I said, nice and calmly. He looked at me with these squinted eyes and curled lips (and im pretty sure that two little horns started to grow out of that red hair on his head) and he said in a soft but forceful way "I am not doing this with you, mother." .....What??!!?? I could not believe my three year old son was trying to talk to me like that!! I tried not to laugh but once again it hit me, IT WAS ME, he mimicked me at a time I was not expecting it. I have said that very line (minus the name) in that exact way (minus the horns) when he was throwing a fit. I didn't think between his feet kicking and screaming he was paying attention to how I was handling the situation (which wasn't well), now I know he watches my every move and listens to my every remark, even if it is made under my breath.

One our favorite things that Tyler does now is say opposite of what he means, he has no idea he is saying it in an incorrect way. One of the things my husband is at fault of when warning our son before a punishment is telling him to keep doing what he is doing and see what happens. Tyler, I guess you can say, has twisted that in his own way and now uses it towards us. His favorite line now is "keep doing that." Only he is really meaning to say stop doing that. It is so funny to hear him belt out at the top of his lungs from the other room "Keep doing that Dad!" mid fit while daddy is trying his best to "talk him down" calmly. Not so funny is when he does it in public to a non suspecting passerby who looks at him the wrong way or says something to him when he is being bratty or punished for not listening. I can only imagine what is going through those poor folks heads... (I am sure all thoughts of how adorable he was quickly diminished as soon as they saw those horns he was sprouting!) I am now determined to start getting this child on video, so keep a lookout for video coming soon!

Head on over!!

Hey ya'll! I asked "daddy" to put Tyler and Trinity in the tub while I picked up dinner and put away the laundry. I put the laundry away upstairs and gathered new laundry to be washed downstairs and placed out P.J.s for the kiddos. Daddy bathed them, got them out and got them dressed. Tyler in his Thomas the tank unders and shorts and Trinity in her monkey nightgown. They were both oh so cute and nice & clean!!

Well, as we sat here daddy on the couch watching TV and mommy at the computer, kids playing right next to me, I hear this god awful long noise. A mini explosion of sorts. I look back to see Trinity standing behind me with this disgusted look on her face which quickly turned into a full pout followed by a bunch of "eh, ahing". Whatever happened sure shook her up. She has been a little loose in the bowel department lately so I was pretty sure she had a huge accident in her diaper, which was enough to leak all over my carpet..ew!

I tell her to go to daddy to avoid her stepping in her "mess". Daddy gets excited and says "WHAT, WHY???" Like mommy was going to make him do all the dirty work.. I grab a ton of diaper wipes and cleaner and start on the floor, practically gagging.. then I move on to Trinity, I begin to lift up her nightgown to change her when....GASP!! Surprise, surprise DADDY got her dressed after her bath but forgot......... a diaper!!!!!!! I looked back at him fuming and with a sly grin his only response was "Oops!" Guess daddy should have been doing the dirty work all along....or maybe mommy should have just done it all....herself!

After a good cleaning and good laugh, I am happy to say Trinity walked away just fine...only daddy was the one to put her diaper on, and it is currently half way up her butt crack, my poor child!....Men!!

Daddies Day!

Just wanted to share what me and Katie Marie did for father's day for Adam! He speaks very well for his age and sometimes the things that come out of his mouth catch me off guard. For instance, I spent most of this past week cleaning for company that will be arriving this weekend. I had just finished upstairs and brought Tyler up to play. He took a couple steps through the gate at the top of the stairs and says "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh mom this is just amazing! It is so nice and clean." It's not so much what he said but how he said it, you would think he just witnessed a miracle! (Although being able to keep this house clean is nothing short of just that!) I thought to myself I don't know of a single 3 year old who would use the words; Oh my, clean and amazing in the same sentence.

Another thing I have noticed is that he is overly observant for his age. He made me realize one morning just how much he does pay attention to his surroundings and the people he is around daily. He opened my kitchen pantry and stood there hand on his hip, he began tapping his index finger on his chin and said "Hmmmm, lets see, lets see, what should I pick, what should I pick." Which was followed by a long sigh. I started laughing immediately because it was like I was looking at a little mini me. He was imitating me to a "T". I do that every so often in the mornings, and would have never thought it was something he would have picked up and done. From time to time I still catch him at the pantry door struggling to decide just what he should have for breakfast. Such a difficult decision for my little guy! That's my little mommas boy!

The mind of a 3 year old.....

For awhile now I have been trying to watch what I eat and lose some weight, this past week didn't go so well. I was feeling fat and bummed out that it just isn't coming off as quickly as I would like. Anyhow....while playing with my kids the other day, we decided to play a game of make believe. Kaitlin was dubbed as the beauty queen, Trinity the princess and Tyler the all mighty super hero! Wonderful! Everyone was happy with their alter egos for the afternoon, except me. No one had given me one yet so I called upon my 3 year old son and asked "If Katie is a beauty queen, Trinity a princess, and you a Superhero, then what does that make mommy?" My jaw hit the floor when he replied "a pig!" I thought "Ouch! what a way to kick a fat woman when she's down!" But I chuckled anyhow....I knew it wouldn't be too hard for me to play the oinker in the bunch!

* However I did later learn that he wanted mommy to be the pig and him the super hero from his favorite show "Super Why" on PBS. He was telling me to be the character from the show, Alpha Pig. Still...why does mommy have to play the pig?? Gotta love my son!

First Post!

Bare with me as I make an attempt to get this blogging thing down! Being a full time mommy and wife has left little time for much else. However, when it does my head is still spinning with errands that need to be ran, meals that need to be cooked, laundry that needs to be washed and dried, stories that need to be read, hugs, kisses and "I love you's" that need to be given for the 100th time that day. I may be given "me time" from now and then but I am never off duty. In my opinion a mother, and wifes job is never fully done. Long after the bottles, diapers, first days of school, first dances to graduation, first marriages and first grandchildren...that motherly instinct still remains in your heart and will never leave you. Sure things can become overwhelming and leave one frazzled from time to time, but what's motherhood and being a wife without a little craziness from time to time? I am going to take a shot at this blogging thing to give everyone a look into my daily thoughts, feelings and just the randomness that makes up me and my life! Feel free to laugh and cry along with me as I struggle to become the wife and mommy I have always wanted to be!

Introduction!

If you want to know the basics look under "My Story."
